OMG! Not a lot of people read. I think mine is 27 or something. It helps that I get ill a lot and when you're ill, you read. haha!
I remember looking at this list once and thinking "Do people not read?!"
I read 23 and have at least ten others on my TBR pile.
I've read 74, but that's because I've been reading for more years than most people. And my parents were both college professors so a lot of these were lying around the house when I was growing up. The ones I haven't read are mostly modern things. Many I hope to read sometime, like Philip Pullman and Salman Rushdie. And I was so glad to see Donna Tartt's the Secret History on the list. A brilliant mystery. Very interesting list.
Kamille - 27 is really good number. I'd say I've started about half the list and never quite got round to finishing them (perfect example - middlemarch) but definitely good list to aim for.

Anne - WOW 74 that's amazing! I think you're clear and out winner here :) Sounds like you had wonderful childhood filled with books Anne :) Love of reading is great thing to pass on to children.
funny i've read 18 too, but almost none of the same ones!
