Absolutely Gutted

no.1 rule of blogging is never post when your angry/upset.

I'm absolutely gutted after watching the Ireland vs. France game.

The players did us proud, and i think they deserved better than that at the end of the day.

I'm not going to say anymore than that though or i'll lose it.

Ciao for now.

I can't even describe the mood in the country. So disappointed.

The way in which it happened wouldn't have helped I bet.

Shix - well i would have been disappointed if it was a 'legitimate' goal but then we'd move on and say we played a great game etc. Trust me Irish fans are used to just letting things go but this was 'not legit' and i think thats why fans are so upset and angry especially after the lads played so well. We feel robbed.

There is a president for rematch but i doubt thats going to happen.

Just ironic when 'Fair Play' seemed to be such a big deal this year lol.

Nice to know its making news around the world though. I do feel sorry for Thierry Henry though cause hes become the main focus of a lot of anger - when it should be the referee and the lack of video refering in the game itself that should be the issue.

Just so you know, it's on all the radio talk shows here in New Zealand across the other side of the world, so there's a lot of sympathy for Ireland. I don't think they can replay it else everyone will want a replay when an umpire misses something. As an Australian fan I can understand the disappointment, we suffered losses to Uruguay and Iran in previous qualifying attempts and it's sad to think you have to wait another 4 years. But you get over it eventually and things turn around, we qualified for the last world cup and now next years. That's just sport, it would be pretty dull without all the drama :)
